 Barbara Mase, a native
of Pennsylvania, began music lesions at the age of five on the violin,
and gradually moved on to the piano and organ. Her first real organ
“job” was at the age of 11, when she began playing for her home
German Lutheran and Reformed Church in Pennsylvania. Barb has a
Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the Boston Conservatory,
where she majored in keyboard and conducting; a Master’s degree in
Public Administration from the University of Hartford and a Master’s
Degree in Congregational Studies from the Hartford Seminary, Hartford,
CT. Barb has served as
director of music/minister of music in churches in Tennessee,
Massachusetts and Connecticut.
Barb is
presently working at the Department of Public Health where she serves as
Health Program Supervisor in the AIDS and Chronic Diseases Section. She
has more than 20 years experience in the nonprofit sector with a special
focus in marketing, advertising, and community collaboration
development. In addition to leadership positions in college
administration, Barb has also worked in for-profit health care
management, public policy and consulting, HIV/AIDS education and
prevention programming/community outreach, and bioterrorism and
emergency preparedness..
Barb lives with her partner Marcy in New Britain, along with their many
and wonderful kitties.
